A Legacy of Giving

Bloch Family Foundation’s $12 million gift supports neuroscience programs and outcomes research

Marion and Henry Bloch devoted millions of dollars and countless hours of their time and energy to Saint Luke’s Hospital over the decades. On Dec. 6, they took that generosity a step further with a $12 million gift to the hospital that will benefit Kansas Citians for generations to come.

The gift will support expanded programming for Saint Luke’s renowned neuroscience program and internationally recognized outcomes research. It’s the single largest donation ever given to Saint Luke’s.

In honor of their generosity and years of support, the Neuroscience Institute has been renamed Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute.

Henry and Marion Bloch committed the first lead gift of $3 million to the Campaign for the New Saint Luke’s, which helped revitalize the hospital campus. They also gave $1.5 million to establish an endowed chair in gastroenterology, $1.5 million for Saint Luke’s liver disease management and transplant program, and supported many other Saint Luke’s programs over the years.

Henry also served on the Saint Luke’s Hospital Board of Directors and Saint Luke’s Foundation Board of Trustees.
